Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy Receives Major Update with Frame Rate Boost and New Features
On September 29, 2025, GAMEPULSE announced a significant update for their popular indie game, Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy. This update focuses on enhancing gameplay experience through various improvements and bug fixes.
Frame Rate Boost: The physics tick rate has been increased to provide smoother battles, available on Ultra and High graphics settings. Additionally, Cirno's animations have been enhanced using Spine2D technology, adding realistic physics to her hair, scarf, and ribbon for a more dynamic experience.
New Features: The update introduces several new features, including UI animations that provide feedback when obtaining HP shards or courage levels. Players will also notice stronger visual and controller feedback during damage, along with screen shake and controller vibration during boss phase clears. Enhanced shooting mechanics for the Gohei item offer more build options, and the auto-aim function's description has been clarified in the settings.
Bug Fixes: The update addresses several issues reported by players. Pressing Tab, Esc, or interact keys simultaneously no longer disrupts game logic. Double execution of functions when clicking a button and pressing spacebar at the same time has also been resolved. Additionally, data swapping between multiple save files has been corrected.
Future Updates: GAMEPULSE is preparing for the release of DLC2, which is scheduled for winter 2025-2026. The current update includes improvements and optimizations in anticipation of this upcoming content. Furthermore, Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy will launch on Nintendo Switch in 2026, with current optimizations aimed at improving frame rate and stability for both Switch and PC versions.
